Amalia Camateros – Ecstatic Dance Facilitator
As a counselor, healer and teacher, Amalia recognizes embodiment as an intrinsic part of our healing process and has incorporated dance as an integral part of her healing practice.

Since she first arrived here from Australia in the late 90’s, Amalia began to integrate shamanic dance into the community of Sedona by offering her Ceremonial Prayer dances to innaugurate conferences and events which have featured, Neale Donald Walsch, Jose Arguelles, Alberto Villoldo, David Hawkins, Michael Beckwith, Danion Brinkley, Deepak Chopra, Robert Mirabal, Matzal, Lost at Last, Kailash, John Dumas and Three Trees.

She is reknowned for her EarthSpirit Dance journeys and her Shake Your Shakti dance series both nationally and internationally, which has culminated over the years into spearheading ‘Ecstatic Dance Sedona’ which has now grown to accomodate several facilitators who lead the dances.

Amalia trained at Mangala Studios of Creative Dance and Yoga, Melbourne, Australia and has taught creative dance for over 25yrs. She trained in Ecstatic Dance with Skywalker on the Big Island of Hawaii along with her training directly transmitted through the grace of Mother Earth in the jungles of the Mayan ruins, the Aegean islands of Greece, the deserts of Egypt, the heiaus of Hawaii and in the red rock escarpments of Sedona, Arizona.

Alba Elena Nia Sedona, Nia Instructor I was born in Cuba and raised in Miami and grew up with the music, dance and rhythms of the island. I trained in ballet and jazz from a young age and went on to teach aerobic dance and body sculpting in Italy, in Spain and throughout South Florida. I taught ballroom and latin dance in South Florida and during that time also trained, travelled and competed nationally as a professional in the Ballroom and Latin divisions. Nia is my path to body/mind/spirit wellness and an ever evolving journey that allows me to connect with my community through music, movement and joy. Nia is a nourishing movement practice, a guided journey into joy and ease of movement, release of tension, play, freedom and healing in body and soul. Classes are joyful, community oriented and fun. Carrie Konyha – Lotus Studio Owner

Lotus Studio founder, owner & director Carrie Konyha is a multi-award winning, world class middle eastern dance artist/instructor, certified yoga instructor (E_RYT 200, YACEP) & certified Barre fitness instructor, Professional Pscyhic, Soul Coach and integrative healing practitioner & spiritual guide who teaches internationally.
Carrie has been practicing yoga since 1994 and teaching since 2000. She teaches Hatha, Vinyasa, YogaSculpt and BarreAsana classes. Her yoga teaching methods & philosophies are inspired by both ancient and modern lineages with her training in traditional Indian dance practices (considered forms of yoga), the teachings of Paramahansa Yoganada in addition to ancient Sufi spiritual practices being among her primary inspirations. As a registered ‘Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider’, Carrie offers specialty workshops and programs at the studio that are eligible for Yoga Alliance CEU’s. Beginning in 2018 Carrie will be offering 200 yoga teacher training programs at Lotus Studio.
Carries dance education includes more than 20 years of training in middle eastern dance including classical Egyptian Raqs Sharqi, Turkish Orientale, a variety of Gypsy dance dialects (Turkish Rom, Ghawazee, Banjara), American Tribal Style bellydance & Folkloric dances of N. Africa. Carrie has additional training in the Indian classical dance, Bharata Natyam, Bhangra, BollyWood, Ballet, Modern dance, gymnastics & in Shamanic healing, meditative dance practices. Her bellydance style has been greatly enriched by her experience in performing within the Arabic communities and by working closely with middle eastern musicians both in the USA and in the Middle East. Jane Montgomery – Yoga instructor

Jane is a yogini priestess and feminine spiritual mentor, guiding women to blossom in their own true nature. She cultivates a women’s conscious temple group, provides goddess workshops, meditation programs and private sessions. She loves her family, creating rituals, vegan baking, nurturing roses and orchids, and the Divine Mother. As a professional-level certified Kripalu yoga and meditation teacher for 20 years, her inspirational style is rooted in depth foundational studies. She has earned advanced certification in Yoga Nidra iRestTM meditation, Tantra goddess yoga, feminine spiritual leadership training and holds a Masters Degree in Teaching. Through our feminine spiritual practices, let’s blossom a life of radiant wellbeing and loving peace in service to our world. Kymberley Griffin –

B.Sci, LMT – A Biologist in an Energetic Field Kymberley has been aware of the Dynamics of Energy Bodies since she was awakened in 1976. Her gifts of insight began at a young age. She was opened by the calling of Mother Earth and the turmoil of the Planet. Lisa Dixon –  Brazilian Carnival Samba & Afro-Cuban Dance instructor – Lisa has been studying folkloric dance and music of Africa and the African Diaspora since 1994. Recently relocated to Sedona from Hawaii, Lisa taught Afro-Brazilian Dance and Carnival Samba at the University of Hawaii Hilo since 2001. I love to teach and share the joy of dance! Lisa is also a practicing astrologer with a Bachelor Degree in Liberal Arts from Kepler College of Astrological Arts and Sciences.

Rachel Holmes – Ballet, Creative Movement, Hip-Hop Dance and Yoga Instructor

Rachel began dancing at a very young age around the house to the music her musician father would play. She went on to receive professional training at the Anneliesse von Oettingen School of Ballet, the School for Creative and Performing Arts and Ballet Tech in Cincinnati, OH, Ballet Met and Dance Theater of Harlem studying classical ballet, Horton, Graham, contemporary, tap, African-Caribbean and West African dance. As a professional dancer, you could often find her attending open classes at Steps on Broadway, Dance New Amsterdam, 100 Grand, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, Paul Taylor Dance, Peridance and Ballet Arts. She has had the honor to dance for Joan Miller’s Dance Players, Elisa Monte Dance, NY2Dance, Mazzini Dance Collective, Contemporary Dance Wyoming and work with notable choreographers such as Manuel Vignoulle, Andre Zachery, Francesa Romo and Gina Patterson. Teaching dance for sixteen years, Rachel has a passion for teaching others about the wonderful art form of dance and how it can teach you about life.
